As today is the last day of winter, it is only fitting to be thinking forward to spring. We all know that with spring, comes spring cleaning. De-cluttering your home is a free, uplifting thing you can do starting now! People are always commenting to me about how they should have decluttered their home "years ago" once I have gone through their home room by room and helped them prepare their home for sale. Decluttering will also save you money, reduce your stress and make your home into the sanctuary it should be for your family. What are you waiting for?! Only 15 minutes a day for a month will make a HUGE difference!

Bank of Canada Lending Rate At An All Time Low

The Bank of Canada dropped its main lending rate to an all time historical low of 0.5%! It is anticipated that the big banks will follow with their lending rates to try and stimulate consumer spending. This may help give a little more confidence to home buyers and a bit of relief for current home sellers.

Inexpensive Home Updates

Updating your home does not have to be difficult or expensive. Try replacing key light fixtures. A cluster of fixtures is the new look in overhead lights. Remove brass light fixtures and replace with brushed nickle, pewter or earth-tones (shades of brown). Try not to introduce a color other than these or the fixtures may be outdated again soon. Stick with the classics....minimal and not too intricate in design. This way, if you do sell sometime soon, your home will suit a more diverse group of buyer's decorating tastes.
